Access to finance


Through the Donegal County Enterprise Fund the offices of the Donegal County Enterprise Board can provide qualifying projects with low interest finance. Before investing in a project the Enterprise Fund must be satisfied that the project has the capacity to be commercially viable and sustainable. The applicant must demonstrate that they have the character, the capacity, management ability and necessary finance to ensure that the business will be capable of repaying the loan, with interest and of generating a return.

The main points of the scheme being :

• Maximum amount to be loaned to any one company, project or enterprise is €63,486.90 with the average loan being €19,046.07 - €31,743.45.

• The rate of interest is prime overdraft rate. Repayment period is five years.

• A moratorium on the principle will apply in the first year.

NB. All applications for loans are accepted subject to the availability of finance.
